In collaboration with the well known name - Edel Catamarans - Aeroyacht is pleased to announce the fast, spacious and surprisingly affordable H42. This boat will be marketed under the name of Aeroyacht H42 in the US and Canada. She is built in the Normandie by Edel Catamarans-France, a company with a 20 year history of building cruising multihulls. Edel is well known for their many hundreds of production models of the popular 35' and 42' model . Presently there are no fewer than 11 of the H42’s sailing, which incorporate the very latest philosophy in terms of design and construction. The H42's features low weight yet high volume elliptical hulls and an advanced bow shape. "Bateaux" Magazine, the French equivalent to "Sail", extensively tested the H42 in rough N-Atlantic conditions in winter and noted her outstanding performance "....very stiff under sail...very rigid construction..."The H42 is unlike any other production daggerboard catamaran on the market.  Aeroyacht H42 EdelAeroyacht H42 EdelAeroyacht H42 EdelAeroyacht H42 Edel

So what is so different about this boat ?
Unique to this type of boat are
the high volume, yet low displacement - elliptically formed hulls, which provide surprisingly spacious and comfortable living accommodations - a feature previously only found on heavier catamarans. Bows, hull and daggerboard shape stem from the latest thinking in multihull design. Unlike most of today's multihulls the H42 is built using the infusion process for ultimate in strength. Centering of weights has been optimized by only placing accommodations and systems between the center and aft beam, reserving the rest to watertight compartments. At last, there is instant feedback tiller steering (hydraulic wheels optional) , which makes the H42 one of the most lively, safest and most comfortable catamarans of its class.  Aeroyacht H42 EdelAeroyacht H42 EdelAeroyacht H42 EdelAeroyacht H42 Edel

Design: The rig is raked aft by 7.5 degrees to help pointing and reduce compression on the center beam. Advanced high aspect ratio daggerboards are inclined to provide positive lift at high speed, effectively reducing resistance and wetted surface. In addition the twin performance foils create hydrodynamic lift to windward and thus optimize upwind VMG. The high tech bows, revolutionized by the hull shape of Formula-1 tris, allow a reduction in weight and windage, yet provide important reserve buoyancy when pressing the boat in gale conditions. The fine shape of the stem at the waterline allows for excellent light air characteristics, by minimizing wave making and parasitic hull drag. A flared section further up provides the all important volume needed to prevent nose digging. At deck level the stem radius tapers back to form a very rigid attachment for the crossbeam and also reduces aero and hydrodynamic drag. Also new, is the material of the stems. A cleverly designed- resilient elastomer acts as built in bumper at the bow and stern and will reduce hull damage in case of frontal impacts. Not only does it give the boat a high tech look but is a practical safety feature found in no other catamaran.

Safety: The H42 provides ultimate safety features such as positive flotation, watertight bulkheads and integrated crash zones, which are entirely isolated from the living accommodations of the vessel. Strict standards of the EC provide her with a " Category 1A offshore" homologation. The triple crash boxes - the forward one even filled with foam - and the innovative bow protection system will also reduce damage in case of collisions. Every effort was made by renown designer (B. Lelievre of C-Class Little Americas Cup fame) to center weights. All accommodations are between the center and aft beams reserving the extremities of the H42 for watertight bulkheads and storage. The optional Solomon Technologies electric engines will optimize weight placement even further.

Construction: The composite hulls and the nacelle consist entirely of a PVC foam sandwich, are vacuum bagged and are built in a "scrimp" infusion process, which removes all excess resin. Bulkheads and interior fittings are constructed with honeycomb and PVC sandwich panels and are also vacuum bagged for an optimal strength to weight ratio. The entire boat is constructed using high grade isophthalic vinylester resins. The separate crossbeams are built using a monolithic laminating process for ultimate resilience and reliability. Vacuum bagged foam core is also used for decks and cockpit floors to provide stiffness, strength and minimum weight. Daggerboard and trunks built in a high strength vinylester composite compound. A skeg is integrated into the bottom of the hull to protect saildrive and rudder from beaching and impacts. The H42 is available in two anti-leeway versions: either with dagger-boards or with keels.

Warranty and Customer Service: The all composite H42 comes with a 5 year structural and 3 year osmosis warranty. The vessels exclusive US and Canadian distributor, Aeroyacht Ltd. of Long Island NY, will act as a service and customer center for all H42’s.

Aeroyacht endorses the quiet performance of Solomon Technologies electric drives and offers it as an attractive option on the H42. The resulting savings in weight and the better placement of the longitudinal Center of Gravity will increase the H42's performance further.

An optional rotating rig or carbon wing mast, as well as fully custom interiors are also offered.
