| Aeroyacht's-H42 affordable performance |
 |
The all new H42 might be the catamaran you have
been looking for. In collaboration with a top notch
French company,
Aeroyacht is pleased to announce the fast and very
affordable H42. She is built by Edel catamarans France,
a company with a 20 year history of building multihulls.
If you like the room of cruising catamarans but not
their performance look no further. The H42's high
aspect ratio hulls and advanced bow shape will put 250
nautical mile days within reach. "Bateaux" Magazine,
the French equivalent to "Sail", extensively tested the
H42 in the freezing N-Atlantic last month and noted her
outstanding performance "....very stiff under sail...very
rigid construction..."
|
| ADVANCED bows and daggerboards |
 |
The H42 is unlike any other production
daggerboard
catamaran on the market. Advanced high aspect ratio
daggerboards are inclined to provide positive lift at high
speed, effectively reducing resistance and wetted
surface. In addition the twin performance foils create
hydrodinamic lift to windward and thus optimize upwind
VMG.
The high tech bows, revolutionized by the hull shape of
Formula 1 tris, allow a reduction in weight and windage,
yet provide important reserve buoyancy when pressing
the boat in gale conditions.
The fine shape of the stem at the waterline allows for
excellent light air characteristics, by minimizing wave
making and parasitic hull drag. A flared section further
up provides the all important volume needed to prevent
nose digging. At deck level the stem radius tapers back
to form a very rigid attachment for the crossbeam and
also to reduce aero and hydrodinamic drag.
Also new, is the material of the stems. A black
extremely resilient elastomer acts as built in bumper
and will reduce hull damage in case of frontal impacts.
Not only does it give the boat a high tech look but is a
practical safety feature found in no other catamaran.
|
| Ultimate SAFETY and DESIGN |
 |
The H42 provides ultimate safety features of positive
flotation, watertight bulkheads and integrated crash
zones, which art isolated from the living accomodations
of the vessel. Strict standards of the EC provide
her with a " Category 1A offshore" homologation.
The triple crash boxes - the forward one even filled
with foam - and the innovative bow protection system
will also
reduce damage in case of collisions. ,br>Every effort
was
made by reknown designer (B. Lelievre of C-Class Little
Americas Cup fame) to center weights. All
accomodations are between the center and aft beams
reserving the extremeties of the H42 for watertight
bulkheads and storage.
|
| High Tech Construction |
 |
The composite hulls and the nacelle consist of a PVC
foam sandwich and are entirely vacuum bagged.
Bulkheads and interior fittings are constructed with
honeycomb and PVC sandwich panels and are also
vacuum bagged for an optimal strength to weight ratio.
The entire boat is constructed using high grade
isophthalic
vinylester resins. The separate crossbeams are built
using a monolithic laminating process for ultimate
resilience and reliability. Vacuum bagged foam core is
also used for decks and cockpit floors to provide
stiffness, strength and minimum weight. Daggerboard
and trunks built in a
high strength vinylester composite compound. A skeg is
integrated into the bottom of the hull to protect
saildrive and rudder from beaching and impacts.
Helios 42 is available in two anti-leeway
versions: either with dagger-boards or with keels.
The all composite H42 comes with a 5 year structural
and 3 year osmosis warranty.

| secret project unveiled: Aeroyacht's new H42 |
 |
The NEW EDEL Helios 42 is not just about performance.
She boasts features such as one of the largest saloons
in her class on the same level as her cockpit.
Innovative features such as mini helming
cockpits in the hulls, advanced bow and foil shape
make her ideal for sailors looking for a pure and well
built sailing machiene, which can also serve as a
liveaboard world cruiser.
