Special attention was given to keep WILLOW as light as possible, without compromising liveaboard comforts. In consultation with Aeroyacht Ltd., the specialist yard, Atelier Outremer in France, has equipped the vessel with Vectran halyards, Kevlar shrouds and triradial spectra sails to optimize sailing performance. A Code-0 type gennaker will be flown from a triangular boswsprit and a jet black triradial cut asymetric spinnaker will compliment the downwind wardrobe.
Her proud owners will take delivery of WILLOW in mid October and sail the boat via Gibraltar to the ARC start in the Canaries, where Gregor Tarjan with his long time French sailing mate, Stephan Stolz of NY., will join the crew for the transatlantic race. For the next 3 years, WILLOW will be kept on the US East Coast and will commute between Aeroyacht's docks in Long Island NY and the Carribbean.
