Blue Water Sailing

...checks out cats
Learn about multihulls from the perspective of one of
the leading offshore monohull publications. Long a
favorite for serious ocean sailors - BLUE WATER
SAILING magazine has been a highly informative
resource for many cruisers over the past decades.
Unlike mainstream publications, Blue Water Sailing
managed to deliver not only pertinent and useful
information in an intelligent format , but has
consistently proved its unbiased and conservative
approach to offshore sailing.
Recently, Gregor Tarjan, founder of Aeroyacht Ltd.,
has been asked to contribute some of his multihull
savvy in form of technical articles and excerpts from
his new reference book
Catamarans Every Sailors Guide in a series of 4
dedicated multihull issues. So, don’t miss a copy of
Blue Water Sailing. |

How to flip a 92’ multi
|
|
......the right way
This operation is not recommended for the faint of
heart. Recently Rapholi, the magnificent Blubay 92,
was flipped “right side up” by her builders at the
Yachts Industries yard in France.
When finished in the summer of 2007, Rapholi will be
one of the most advanced and luxurious catamarans
afloat. Designed by Jean Jaques-Costes and built from
a special, weight saving aluminum alloy, she will
boast performance very similar to composite yachts,
yet feature a high-class designer interior sculpted by
the famous craftsmen of the Yachts Industries yard.

...it would be a multihull
Craig Loomis, has done it again and designed one of
the most radical – yet efficient poweryachts. The
concept of wave piercing high speed vessels is not a
new one and its success has been proven by yachts,
such as Earthvoyager, which readers of this newsletter
will remember.
The 124’ wave piercer is still in the concept stage,
but her realization is not as far as it may seem. With
32,000 HP and a “cruising speed” of 40 knots she
cannot be considered a couch potato. She will provide
her 26 guests unrivalled views from the 4 story-high
sky lounge as her super slender hull submerges at high
speed. For more information, contact: Craig Loomes
