Blubay 92' launch
The clock is ticking and we are barely at T-minus several weeks
to the launch date of the magnificent
Blubay 92' catamaran built at Yacht Industries in France.
At 92 feet length and a beam of nearly 42' she will be one of
the largest yachts of her type to be launched in recent years.
The Blubay 92 is entirely built in high strength, light-weight
Silium alloy - a material which maximizes interior volume,
longevity and strength without compromising performance.
Live-ability of this luxury cat is immense, not only considering
the boats interior volume but also exterior socializing space.
Those who like swimming will appreciate the hydraulic platform
that lowers bathers and their water toys gently into the sea at
the push of the button. For those who prefer to remain on board
there is even a Jacuzzi on the flybridge.
Aeroyacht Ltd. are North American and Canadian agents for the
Yapluka and Blubay range of custom sail catamarans from 65' to
130' and the innovative Blubay Tender Cat 45

Mystery Man Answer

Who is the King ?
We received plenty of answers to our last month's trivia
question: "Who is the person mostly responsible for the public
recognition and development of modern cruising multihulls?"
Well, some of you got it right: It is no other than Charles K.
Chiodi, publisher of the oldest and most recognized multihull
publication:
MULTIHULL MAGAZINE. Our friend claims that his bimonthly
grassroots mag is read in 110 countries. We at least can confirm
that it was available in landlocked Vienna, Austria 20 years ago
where we stood on line to buy it.
Charles single-handed the catamaran movement in the 50's and
60's, as well as rubbed shoulders with well known multihull
pioneers and designers, orchestrated the first symposiums and
was the all- important instigator for various "multihull
lagoons" at US boat shows. Without him we might all still be
sailing lead-transporters.
Some of you might disagree - nevertheless thank you for the many
loosing answers, such as: Elvis Presley or Al Gore. Many
received an honorable mention who thought it was: James Warrham,
Hobie Alter, Rudy Choy or Arthur Piver. |
