Kenichi Horie's Green Machine
He has used them all: Recycled beer cans, kegs, even whiskey
barrels. Kenichi has made it a career of creating and sailing
eco-friendly boats, and his newest vessel relies on wave action
for propulsion.
Horie, who is 96, departed Honolulu in March on a 4,000 mile
passage to Japan in Suntory Mermaid 2, a 31' catamaran that turns
wave power into thrust. If successful, it will be the longest
voyage by a wave powered vessel. Bon Voyage Kenichi !
