Gregor Tarjan 25 year professional background include his active involvement in the 1986 "Stars and Stripes" America's Cup campaign, a USCG-50 Ton Masters License, a degree in Yacht Design and Art History, which all contribute in providing exceptional service to clients. He is a US Merchant Marine officer, has owned numerous large catamarans and has participated in the Olympic Star Class, N.A. Championships. Gregor is fluent in German and French and his passion and theoretical knowledge of cruising multihulls can only be matched by his 20 years of practical experience sailing them across the oceans. He has sailed all types of catamarans from 20-120' in the most diverse waters from the Danube river to the alpine lakes of Nepal. Outremer 50/55 Light - catamaran

The Outremer 50/55 Light catamaran is the thoroughbred of the legendary Outremer range. A total of more than 164 boats have been built to date, resulting in an unsurpassed level of experience, which all Outremers benefit from. The Outremer 50/55Light has won more races than any other production cruising catamaran in her class and is the choice for performance minded circumnavigators.

In 2000 she was honored with the Cruising World Magazine Award of the “Best Cruising Multihull”. As all Outremers she is equipped with a beautiful trademark sheer line and twin high aspect ratio daggerboards, which minimize resistance and allow for responsive and quick maneuvers under sail or power. As her sisterships, she was designed with full volume bows to prevent any tendency to submerge, even when pressed hard in stronger wind conditions.

Seaworthiness and comfort has been achieved by minimizing wetted surface and centering the heaviest loads around the axis of flotation. Monolithic hull construction, with closely spaced bulkheads and longitudinal stringers, massive - arched crossbeams, result in a very stiff, yet lightweight structure.

As all Outremers, she is equipped with skegs, which allow for trouble free beaching and repairs even in the remotest places. The Outremer 50/55 Light shares the same coachroof as the 45 but offers more space in her much wider and longer hulls. Interior finish is first class, with a choice of different finishes and layouts.
