Gregor Tarjan 25 year professional background include his active involvement in the 1986 "Stars and Stripes" America's Cup campaign, a USCG-50 Ton Masters License, a degree in Yacht Design and Art History, which all contribute in providing exceptional service to clients. He is a US Merchant Marine officer, has owned numerous large catamarans and has participated in the Olympic Star Class, N.A. Championships. Gregor is fluent in German and French and his passion and theoretical knowledge of cruising multihulls can only be matched by his 20 years of practical experience sailing them across the oceans. He has sailed all types of catamarans from 20-120' in the most diverse waters from the Danube river to the alpine lakes of Nepal. He is co-author of the SAILORS MULTIHULL GUIDE, writer of numerous articles for MULTIHULLS, SAIL and CRUISING magazines and his new book: "Catamarans Offshore" is to be published soon.

The Outremer 64S is the largest and fastest of all Outremer catamarans. She represents the latest generation of luxury- performance multihulls and is built to the highest principles of seaworthiness, construction and performance.

Especially conceived for the US market, this magnificent vessel not only exceeds the engineering standards one expects in such a circumnavigator, but through the combination of proven methods with the proper use of aerospace technology the Outremer 64 S is also considerably lighter and faster than equal size multihulls.

Through reduced loads and intelligent use of technology, the Outremer 64S catamaran is easily shorthanded by an experienced couple, and through her high average speeds is capable of greatly reducing the time of long ocean passages. Her stunning performance not only will impress racers but also sailors, who’s prime concern is to lessen exposure time at sea.
Although the biggest of the range, the 64S shares the same philosophy of reliability and longevity as all the Outremer catamarans. Ship's systems and accommodations are planned and built in such a way, so that even after decades of use, service and operations are as trouble free as they were on the first day.

Key Features

Hull configuration: Vacuum bagged, hand laid-up foam core decks, bulkheads and stringers. Built in OCS® (Overlap Composite Construction System) with monolithic vacuum bagged high aspect ratio hulls, incorporating longitudinal omegas, full buoyancy bow-sections and reverse transoms with molded boarding steps. Twin, high performance daggerboards. Numerous watertight compartments, forward “crash-box” filled with foam. . EC Certified to “Ocean” category A, unsinkable.

Steering System: Twin hydraulic wheel steering

Sail Plan: High aspect ratio sloop rig, fully battened main, self-tacking jib on furler. Optional: Genoa, bowsprit with gennaker and asymmetric spinnaker.

Accommodations are fully customizable:
Standard layout: Main saloon: Galley up, along port/aft side of saloon. Forward to port a very spacious forward looking nav station with curved, full size chart table, large L- or U- shaped lounge area with extra, forward facing seating for 14. Additional countertops or second lounge area to starboard, against aft side of saloon. Port hull: Comfortable aft master stateroom with walk-around king size berth and private head compartment aft. Mid-ships is a double berth with a head/shower forward. Spacious crew quarters with hanging lockers and head in the forepeak. Starboard hull: Aft stateroom with seat and hanging locker and own head compartment aft. Mid-ships is a private office. Forward of it a double berth with hanging lockers and own head. In the forepeak: Additional crew-quarters with head.

Helm locations:
Twin helms, to port and starboard aft against outboard side of rear coach-roof wall, or aft in cockpit.

Deck Layout:
Large cockpit with twin tables and wrap-around seating, fixed bimini over lounge area. Aerodynamic cabin top with integrated sunvisor. Wide, flat antiskid decks, with low profile skylights and hatches. Trampoline forward with centrally located rigid walkway incorporating twin anchor lockers. Abundant storage in forward hull compartments and in cockpit.
