Gregor Tarjan 25 year professional background include his active involvement in the 1986 "Stars and Stripes" America's Cup campaign, a USCG-50 Ton Masters License, a degree in Yacht Design and Art History, which all contribute in providing exceptional service to clients. He is a US Merchant Marine officer, has owned numerous large catamarans and has participated in the Olympic Star Class, N.A. Championships. Gregor is fluent in German and French and his passion and theoretical knowledge of cruising multihulls can only be matched by his 20 years of practical experience sailing them across the oceans. He has sailed all types of catamarans from 20-120' in the most diverse waters from the Danube river to the alpine lakes of Nepal. Getaway Cruise - 2/4 Day Sample Itinerary


Manhattan Harbor

Day 1-2

Port Jefferson to NY harbor. 3-7 hours. Sail along Long Islands North Shore via the many charming harbors West towards the Big Apple. Berth boat at one NYC marinas and enjoy an unforgettable night in town. See a show, treat yourself to a lavish dinner or just stroll the streets The skyline of the Big Apple as seen from your own yacht will remain one of your top boating highlights-guaranteed.


Norwalk Islands

Day 2-3

NYC to Norwalk Islands. 2-4 hours. Sail back via the historic "Hells Gate" through the Throgs Neck and Whitestone bridges, along Connecticuts spectacular shoreline. Drop the hook in the peaceful surrounding of Sheffield Island and go for a swim. Afterwards take a guided tour of the early 19th century lighthouse and enjoy the many activities, such as the award winning Childrens Museum or Aquarium. The variety of Norwalk's bars and restaurants within walking distance from the docks will fit every taste and budget.


Thimble Islands

Day 3-4

Norwalk Islands to Port Jefferson: 2-4 hours. Either sail straight back SE across the Sound towards the easy entrance of Port Jefferson Harbor or visit the famous Thimble Islands for an afternoon swim and sunset barbeque. You can either stay overnight by anchoring in the protection of one of the islands or drop the hook in Port Jefferson's "Pirate's Cove" , also known as the "Bermuda of Long Island".
