AC World Series comes to Newport from June 23 to July 1, 2012

Come join Aeroyacht in Newport, RI. The host city was unveiled as the final stop of the 2011-2012 AC World Series, which promises to be a dramatic finish to the first season of the new AC45 professional circuit. Designed to expose millions more people to the sport of high-performance catamaran racing, the new professional circuit was created to bring the America’s Cup experience to top international venues.

In addition to being the first American host of the high-tech AC45 wing-sailed catamarans in 2012, Newport also has the honor of seeing the first AC World Series circuit champion crowned. The highlight of each AC World Series stop is the spectacular, winner-takes-all, fleet race on final Sunday, where teams put points on the board to take the overall title, so the final race on Sunday, July 1 in Newport could be the ultimate decision maker for the AC World Series champion.

It is actually a catamaran with a submersed watertight chamber the builders call Ego. It allows two people to explore ocean life without having to operate complicated submarine controls. The Korean builder says: enjoy “fantastical” views under the sea with your sweetheart. The best is – you do not even need to know how to swim. We like the idea of this wacky ego sub cat.

The new 40m Sunreef Power catamaran will have accommodation laid out across three decks and includes four double cabins as well as the full‐width owner’s suite. The  Nigel Gee 40m motor catamaran has a beam of nearly twelve metres. The saloon and exterior decks offer space for relaxation and entertainment that conventional yachts of this length can only dream of, while a range of engine options can provide speeds of up to 40 knots and over 2,000 nm between fuel stops. The Sunreef 40m powered catamaran will have a draft of just 1.9 metres enabling her to access shallow harbors and anchorages.

The Arrowcat line of power catamarans are the a new addition to our line of multihulls. Excxuisitely designed and finished they are possibly the finest performing power catamarans in their class. While the competition rides on displacement and semidisplacement hulls, the Arrowcat is a true planing power catamaran.
