see the Neel 50 videoThe unique aspect of the Neel 50 is that she is designed to combine the speed potential of a lightweight trimaran with ultra spacious living. The Neel 50 trimaran is designed by Eric Bruneel – famous for his sailing achievements winning the OSTAR and Fastnet race on his 50′ trimaran. This all composite tri is unsinkable and actually lighter than water. Her three hulls are designed with a high prismatic coefficient and provide more than 6000 lbs of cruising payload. The Neel 50 is easily capable of sailing at more than 10 knots on average, and can reel off 300-mile days offshore. The innovative Neel is extremely seaworthy and able to reach speeds in the 15- to 20-knot range when the wind picks up. She has innovative features such as a fully featured inside steering station and sail controls and even boasts a clever water toy/kayak garage in the amas. The Neel 50 is designed like a big French racing trimaran, but with real living spaces spanning the enormous beam between the outer hulls. This multihull is very different from your average cruising catamaran, but in many ways superior in terms of living space, performance, payload and seaworthiness.
