We would like to take this opportunity to announce a new regatta for large performance cruising catamarans, to be held in Mallorca at the end of this summer.
The Multihull Cup is a new idea for a fun, competitive regatta aimed at all performance cruising multihulls over 50 feet. Up until now, owners of larger performance catamarans have had limited options, in the Mediterranean, to race their yachts in a regatta format. Held over a long weekend, from 18th to 20th September 2015, the Multihull Cup is comprised of three races: two approximately 30Nm on Friday and Sunday, with a longer ‘record run’ race on Saturday.
Mallorca, and especially the SW of Mallorca, offers an exceptional racing environment for performance cruising catamarans. With easy access, reliable breeze, stunning islands to race around and first class social venues, the Multihull Cup has chosen an impressive location.
Port Adriano, the newest superyacht marina in the Mediterranean, provides the ideal location for a multihull regatta. The marina is totally self contained, offering competitors social venues, shops, restaurants, berthing and technical support. With entries already coming in from yachts such as the new Nigel Irens 78’ Allegra, and Coco de Mer the Gunboat 66, the organizers welcome all enquiries and hope to provide owners and crew with an unforgettable weekend of racing.
With the interest in Multihulls growing, we are excited about building the Multihull Cup into the premium regatta for large performance cruising multis in the Mediterranean
