Podium for FLO 2 at the 37th Heineken Regatta
Day one started with big winds and 4 m swells on the East side of St. Maarten ! After a battle with a J-105 monohull from a different class our Nautitech 40 Open FLO 2 finished 3rd. The breeze was on ! Winds were between 20-25 knots and the attrition rate in all classes was high. Tragically one sailor lost a finger we heard over the VHF, many broken masts and booms. The first day’s race was the longest taking the fleet of over 200 mono and multihulls around the island of St. Maarten. We finished a respectable 3rd in class. … The second day also proved our Nautitech’s speed as we took line honors and came in first over the line – although starting last. What fantastic race, what fantastic boat and a podium finish for our catamaran FLO 2. (crew: Flo, Philippe, Victor and Gregor Tarjan)
